About the Study Permit
A study permit is a document that allows foreign nationals to study at designated learning institutions (DLIs) in Canada. A study permit is not a visa: you may also need a visitor visa or an electronic travel authorization (eTA) to enter Canada. In most cases, the visitor visa is issued together with the study permit approval.
We work with you from choosing a program and understanding DLI requirements, through preparing and submitting your application, to planning your arrival in Canada. We will help you build the strongest possible application by making sure your documents are complete, consistent, and well explained before anything is filed.
Eligibility at a glance
- Are enrolled at a designated learning institution (DLI)
- Prove you have enough money to pay your tuition fees, living expenses for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada, and return transportation for all of you
- Obey the law, have no criminal record, and get a police certificate (if required)
- Are in good health and get a medical exam (if required)
- Prove to an officer that you will leave Canada when your study permit expires
Eligibility rules change. Confirm your specific situation on the CICC Public Register for our licensing, and with IRCC for current program requirements — or simply ask us in a consultation.
Required documents checklist
Work through this list before your consultation — it makes the session dramatically more useful. Tick items off as you collect them.

Why a checklist matters
Incomplete or inconsistent documents are the most common reason applications stall or get refused. We review your package against this list and help you explain any gaps honestly before anything is submitted.
